A bridge is planned to be built across the Dniester estuary in Odesa

Next year, Odesa Oblast plans to start construction of a road with a bridge over the Dniester Estuary, according to the document "Program of Socio-Economic and Cultural Development of Odesa Oblast for 2023 and Main Development Directions for 2024-2025", which was approved by the Oblast Council on August 4 under time of extraordinary session.
The document emphasizes that today the state of the road surface and the capacity of Black Sea roads from the mouth of the Danube to the mouth of the Dnieper are becoming an important element of deterrence within the framework of the national security strategy.
"In this context, it is necessary to highlight the vulnerability of transport logistics for moving the necessary forces to the zone between the Danube and the Dniester. The strategic direction of solving the issue of the transport connection of this territory with the center of the Odesa region is the construction of a bridge across the Dniester estuary," the message says.
In addition, the commissioning of the "Orlivka-Isakcha" ferry complex across the Danube in the Izmail district and the growing number of vehicles using this crossing make it possible to assert that the bridge across the Dniester estuary is not only strategically important, but also economically expedient, as it will shorten the road traffic flow to the south of Europe.
After numerous missile attacks by the Russian army on the bridge in Zatoka, the object is currently not subject to restoration.
