Laboratories will be created in Ukraine to check construction products for compliance with European standards

From 2025, manufacturers of construction products will necessarily declare the characteristics of their products and confirm their compliance with European standards, which will be checked by special laboratories and designated conformity assessment bodies.
The head of the Committee on Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning, head of the Servant of the People party, Olena Shulyak, said this in an interview.
According to her, all this is part of the implementation of EU Regulation 305, the essence of which is to bring Ukrainian construction products into compliance with all EU standards, norms and characteristics. Product data should be publicly available, which will help prevent the use of low-grade dangerous materials and counterfeits.
"The 305 regulation is one of the first steps towards industrial visa-free travel. If it were not for a full-scale war, it would have come into effect on January 1, 2023. But we were forced to postpone it to 2025, because it is necessary to organize a network of modern laboratories, appoint conformity assessment bodies, etc. We hope that during this time we will do all the organizational things, and the 305 regulation will be fully operational in Ukraine," said the deputy.
The first steps in this direction are already being taken today, she assures. Thus, together with the Ministry of Reconstruction and the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the e-cabinet of the manufacturer of construction products was recently opened in the Unified State Electronic System in the Field of Construction (EDESSB). "Manufacturers declare the performance of their products there. Now it is voluntary, but later it will become mandatory. The purpose of this is clear and clear - we strive for the production and use of exclusively safe, high-quality modern materials in Ukraine.
Neither reconstruction nor future construction is possible without them," Olena Shulyak emphasized. We will remind you that almost a year ago, the parliament passed draft law No. 4142, which prohibits the use of asbestos in construction. It can cause serious health problems - its fibers are in the form of hard needles and, entering the body during construction or repair work, lead to incurable diseases of the respiratory tract.
