Unites more than 40 thousand companies in more than 100 countries of the world: the head of the Ministry of Development signed a memorandum with FIDIC

Oleksandr Kubrakov signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the largest international organization in the field of construction consulting.
The signing took place together with Nelson Ogunshakin, Director General of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers FIDIC, which unites more than 40,000 firms in more than 100 countries. The memorandum envisages cooperation in the direction of reforming the procurement system and implementation of infrastructure projects in Ukraine, in particular those implemented jointly with international financial organizations (IFIs).
"The exchange of experience and information between the Ministry and FIDIC will contribute to the approximation of construction standards and procedures to European standards and accelerate Ukraine's accession to the EU.
It is worth noting that the signing of the Memorandum will allow the implementation of best practices in the field of procurement, engineering and contracting, which will contribute to the implementation of high-quality infrastructure projects within the framework of MFI financing," commented the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine - Minister of Community Development, Territories and of infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.
The memorandum includes:

• Development of National Special Conditions for use with FIDIC contracts in Ukraine in accordance with the rules and policies of the federation;
• Increasing the institutional potential of Ukraine regarding the implementation of joint infrastructure projects with MFIs;
• Involvement of FIDIC representatives in the organization of educational events for customers of public procurements related to the infrastructure industry, for familiarization with FIDIC proformas, publications and areas of activity;
• Increasing the potential of the domestic market of professional engineering services and project management in Ukraine;

The projects that will be worked on within the framework of the Memorandum are aimed at emergency recovery programs in various areas: infrastructure, energy, health care, education, agriculture, etc.
The International Federation of Consulting Engineers is the largest international organization in the field of construction consulting. It is the representative body for national associations of consulting engineers and has more than one million engineering professionals and more than 40,000 firms in more than 100 countries around the world.
