Several residential complexes for IDPs will be built in Lviv Oblast

Construction of three residential complexes for forced migrants is planned in Lviv region. The project will be implemented jointly with the International Organization for Migration, the regional military administration reports.
In total, it is planned to create from 442 to 556 apartments, in which up to 1,668 internally displaced persons will be able to settle. The IOM project to build new housing for displaced people started in 2020 in Luhansk region, but due to the war, its implementation was moved to Lviv region.
The construction of three multi-apartment complexes is planned in Kamianka-Buzka and Drohobytska communities. Housing renovation will be carried out in the city of Stary Sambir. It is assumed that it will be possible to create half a thousand apartments, which will be able to accommodate from 1326 to 1668 people who were forced to move from dangerous regions.
"The project is designed not only to settle people, but also to improve the conditions for their full integration into the socio-economic and cultural life of the communities of Lviv Oblast. That's why we're talking about social infrastructure, conditions for work, education," said Andriy Godyk, the first deputy head of Lviv OVA.
The following conditions were taken into account when choosing settlements where apartments for displaced persons will be built: places for employment, proximity to social, medical, transport, educational infrastructure, absence of military facilities and critical infrastructure.
The European Union allocated 19.5 million euros for the construction of a social dormitory for immigrants with disabilities, which will be built on Mikolajchuk Street, near the First Medical Association of Lviv.
