From Chop to Uzhgorod, they started to lay the euro track

Ukrzaliznytsia has started a complex of works on the preparation of the ground for the laying of the 1435 mm Euro track on the Chop - Uzhhorod section. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences.
For this section, the railway workers are assembling the rail grating at their own facilities.
Repair of artificial structures located along the site is also underway. Previously, the railway workers had already completed a complex of preparatory works: they cleared the construction sites of overgrowth and bushes, completed the current repair of track No. 2 of the Strumkivka station for the movement of railway construction equipment.
The UZ assures that the implementation of the Chop - Uzhhorod Eurotrack construction project is on schedule and will be completed by July 2025.
The project envisages the construction of 22 km of European-standard railway track, the reconstruction of artificial structures, objects and networks of engineering support, equipping the track with two-way semi-automatic blocking and microprocessor dispatching centralization devices.
The total cost of the project is UAH 1.3 billion, 50% of which is financed from the EU fund Connecting Europe Facilit (CEF). Ukrzaliznytsia got the opportunity to implement this project as a result of successful participation in the competitive selection of CEF projects in 2022. The Chop - Uzhhorod Eurotrack construction project started in April this year.
