Saudi Arabia's futuristic megaproject Neom has announced the opening of Sindalah - a luxurious island in the Red Sea.
This is the first realized object out of 10 planned as part of the Neom project. It was designed by the Italian architectural studio Luca Dini Design and Architecture.
The island is located 5 kilometers from the Neom coastline in the Red Sea and covers an area of 840,000 square meters.
The island has hotels, restaurants, a yacht club with 86 berths, a golf club and a beach club. The interiors of the premises were designed by the Italian fashion brand Stefano Ricci. 440 hotel rooms, 88 villas and more than 200 serviced apartments will be available for visitors to the island. It is expected that Sindalah will be able to receive 2,400 visitors per day by 2028.
Recall that the NEOM megaproject is part of the Saudi Vision 2030 plan to diversify the country's economy to reduce its dependence on oil. It also includes THE LINE linear city, the Gulf region's first ski resort Trojena, Oxagon industrial city and Norlana coastal city, etc.
