Construction of the tallest building in the world resumed in Saudi Arabia

The construction of the Jeddah Tower with a height of more than 1000 meters in Saudi Arabia has been restored. The project was developed by the Chicago team of Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill (AS+GG) Architecture. This is reported by the Design Boom publication. The shape of the giant skyscraper resembles a leaf of a local flower emerging from the sand of an arid desert.
Its height will exceed the Burj Khalifa by about 200 meters.

The mixed-use tower will house a Four Seasons hotel, apartments, office space, luxury condominiums and the world's tallest observatory overlooking the nearby Red Sea. The total cost of the project is estimated at US$20 billion, of which approximately US$1.2 billion is allocated to the tower alone.

The elevator system of the tower will be one of the most advanced in the world, the elevators will move up to ten meters per second. Piling and foundation work is now complete (representing 1/3 of the construction progress), and the latest images from the site show that construction has reached level 50 out of 157. The expected completion date for the project remains undisclosed.
