Traffic began along the two newly built ramps of the Darnitsky bridge towards the Paton and Osokorki bridges on the left bank.
In Kyiv, traffic was opened on the completed Darnitsky bridge between the right and left banks of the Dnieper. This was announced by the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure on Thursday, July 6.
In particular, traffic began along the two newly built exits of the Darnytsky Bridge towards the Paton and Osokorky bridges on the left bank. It became possible to organize a direct connection between the Osokorky and Poznyaky residential developments and the Kyiv City Express platform and Bereznyaky.
The ministry noted that over more than 10 years of construction, the Darnytsky Bridge has become one of the symbols of Kyiv's long-term construction projects. Its construction was restarted in 2021. Due to the outbreak of a major war in March-April last year, work was suspended, but resumed in May 2022.
The bridge is on the balance sheet of Ukrzaliznytsia, but was completed at public expense.
The Darnytsky Bridge has six traffic lanes and a capacity of 35,000 vehicles per day.
