The most expensive building in Las Vegas: a giant sphere-screen turned into the Earth, the Moon and Mars

A huge screen-sphere in the center of Las Vegas turned into Earth, Mars and the Moon on the 4th of July, US Independence Day, according to Space.com.
The 111-meter-tall and 157-meter-wide sphere turned on an outdoor LED display of about 54,000 square meters for the first time in early July as part of an exhibition in Las Vegas.
Aside from LED fireworks, American flag effects, nature scenes and some sci-fi imagery, perhaps the most stunning use of the world's largest man-made spherical structure was to project the celestial bodies of the solar system, including the Moon, Mars and Earth.

The sphere uses approximately 1.2 million LED "pucks" spaced more than 20 cm apart across the entire outer surface. One puck contains 48 individual LED bulbs and is capable of producing 256 million different colors. Inside, the sphere also has a screen for a 17,385-seat concourse.
At the moment, the only scheduled events inside the sphere are U2's four-show concert in September and October and director Darren Aronofsky's A Postcard from Earth, the first "immersive experience", which will run for five days in the first half of October.
